I just looked at a place in Hayes Valley last night and am considering taking it. It's at Fell and Laguna. Does anyone have thoughts as to how the neigborhood is there.
Also, I have a car. Is it going to be impossible to park, I don't drive everyday.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Thinking of moving to Hayes Valley
Tue, January 10, 2006 - 1:55 PMIt's not impossible, but nights can be really bad. You will also need to move several times a week (street cleaning), sometimes day (traffic lane).

Re: Thinking of moving to Hayes Valley
Tue, January 10, 2006 - 11:59 PMI'm a block from there and I like it a lot. I'm pretty comfortable with the neighborhood and I used to live very close by before moving into my current place. I see a lot of people walking on Fell which is a good sign.
Parking can be challenging at night unless you leave early in the morning. Oak has street cleaning from 7am-9am, so it always has spaces open in the evening (and days too). I do the street parking shuffle and it isn't too bad. I like it because most of it is from noon to 2pm (except for Fell). I see parking spaces for rent on CL, but I always balk at the last moment. -

Re: Thinking of moving to Hayes Valley
Wed, January 11, 2006 - 9:13 AMThanks for all the information. It's really helping make my decision.
I go out of town so much I just can't see giving up my car realistically.
Any more info or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. -

Re: Thinking of moving to Hayes Valley
Thu, January 12, 2006 - 1:00 PMIf you're right on Fell, the traffic can be a bit noisy at times. However, my livingroom faces out to the street and I got used to it very qucikly. My bedroom faces an alley out back and that's very quiet.
